Naomi Gatlin Founded Play Matters Preschool in 2013. Once offering a full-day childcare, she switched to a fully outdoor environment after the pandemic. Offerings include half day schedule 8-12 for drop off preschool or stay & play parent-child class.

Play Matters is an inspiring, nature-based outdoor education center in Citrus Heights, California. Embracing Waldorf and Reggio philosophies, we provide a playful and non-traditional learning environment for toddlers, & preschool children. Our child-led activities focus on fostering creativity, exploration, and critical thinking skills. We believe in nurturing each child's curiosity, preserving the magic & wonder of childhood, encourage them to question, take risks and collaborate. Rain or shine, we play outside. At Play Matters, children aren't just students, they're part of our forest family.
