Yellow House Playschool has been in existence for more than 40 years. It started as a small home daycare for infants and toddlers, It has grown and changed over the years. What has not changed is director Jan Lozito’s commitment to creating a safe, warm, enriched setting, where children are inspired to explore, create and develop community. We are now a play-based, half-day program with a maximum of 12 children and three teachers.
We spend the majority of our time outside. We have a large covered deck which serves as our outdoor classroom. This is where we read stories, engage in art activities and sensory, manipulative and imaginary play. Our play yard is equipped with a sand box, riding toys, mud kitchen and combination chicken coop/play structure. Our indoor areas are well ventilated, bright and cheerful. A wholesome snack is provided and we provide a hot lunch on Mondays and Thursdays. Kids bring their own on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8am-1pm. Two, three, four or five day options available. Extended care negotiable.
