Oakhurst Cooperative Preschool, Inc., founded in 2008, is a parent-run, professionally staffed learning center in Decatur, GA, that creates a nurturing and diverse environment "where nature meets nurture." Committed to education, community, diversity, and environmental responsibility, the preschool offers classes five days a week to young children from Decatur and surrounding areas. With an emphasis on fostering respect for people and the environment, the curriculum draws from Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and Waldorf philosophies, encouraging curiosity, empathy, confidence, and a love for learning among its pupils.
