About
First Bryan Baptist Church, a historic African-American church, was organized by Andrew Bryan, a freed slave, in 1788 in Savannah, Georgia. The site was purchased by Bryan in 1793 and the first structure was erected in 1794. The current sanctuary was built in 1873. Over time, the congregation grew and expanded to include the First African Baptist Church, Second, and Third African Baptist churches. In addition to its religious services, First Bryan Baptist Church also runs an After School Program, providing care and educational experiences in the local community.
