Community Services for Children (CSC), based in Allentown, PA, prepares young children and their families to succeed in learning and in life through innovative, comprehensive services. CSC serves at-risk children and supports low-income households with programs including Head Start and Pre-K Counts, Early Head Start, and Early Learning Resource Centers. Community initiatives such as Project Child provide parenting education and prevention resources, including podcasts, trainings, and seminars.
CSC Downtown features 20 preschool classrooms, a 5,000-square-foot outdoor naturescape, innovation labs, a creative arts studio, and fitness centers. Specialized programming emphasizes literacy and STEM to support critical thinking, creativity, and exploration for approximately 400 preschoolers.
Additional offerings include the 2nd Head Start Alumni Scholarship, Mimi’s Book Club for children’s literacy, SafeStart for abused and neglected infants and toddlers, and The Newton School’s project-based STEM learning. CSC engages families, educators, and community partners through volunteer opportunities, internships, events, and donor-supported initiatives, including participation in Pennsylvania’s Educational Investment Tax Credit program.
