Casa Montessori, located in Richmond, TX, and surrounding areas, offers Montessori environment, I call their daily activities their "work." This shows them that their
activities are important and that the word "work" isn't synonymous with unpleasant activities, rather things that bring them joy.
Your child will be given different presentations on work materials over the course of the week. They are allowed to choose any material that they have been given a lesson in. In practical life skills, they can practice dressing frames to help gain independence with clothing.
Gardening and polishing materials are other ways they may engage their hands to gain
independence. Art materials and books will be periodically rotated to allow exposure to new material. The sensorial material allows the child to isolate and refine each of their senses with size sorting, detailed understanding of geometric shapes, scent matching, etc. Math material comes in phases that start with a solid materials. The language area starts with phonetic sound awareness, then progresses to writing
and reading. A child who is already reading will learn grammar and sentence analysis.
Some days they may have take-home material to show you, some days they may not.
Each child will work to take care of their community to allow them to feel invested in their classroom and in the Illbeing of others.program focuses on hands-on learning through activities like gardening, puzzles, and experiments. Young minds are enlightened with geography through maps and games. Creativity is nourished with arts and crafts while physical development is encouraged through outdoor playtime.
