About
Green Hedges School, founded in 1942 and located in Vienna, Virginia, is a co-ed independent institution offering a Montessori program for children aged 3-5, and a preparatory lower and middle school curriculum for grades 1-8. The school was established by Frances Kilmer and her husband, Kenton, with the aim of providing a positive, prejudice-free learning environment. The school, which began with just ten students, now enrolls around 190 students and is overseen by a board of parents and community leaders.
