The Mayapple School, founded in 2015 and based in Blacksburg and Newport, Virginia, offers a unique approach to early education. With a focus on creative, place-based education, the school offers hands-on experiences in various disciplines, from math and literacy to outdoor and nature education. As a licensed daycare center, they also provide care and educational experiences for up to 25 children. The Mayapple School was created as a subsidiary of Loco Arts, a non-profit community arts center in Giles County, and continues to nurture joyful, connected, and resilient children.
