About
Founded in 1900, Friends Association for Children in Richmond, VA has been serving the community for over 140 years. Initially an orphanage, the association now offers childcare, youth development, and family support services, serving over 1,000 children annually. Their broad range of programs helps children from six weeks to 17 years develop critical literacy and developmental skills, as well as an appreciation for their community. With centers located in the economically disadvantaged areas of Church Hill and Jackson Ward, Friends Association continues its mission to help children reach their potential and become productive citizens.
