Founded in 1996, the Academy for Learning and Character Development (ALCD) is a non-profit organization serving Huntsville, Alabama and its surrounding areas. With a mission to provide safe, affordable, high-quality childcare in a developmentally appropriate environment. Led by Dr. Sylvia Collins and Mrs. Tequila Slocum , ALCD promotes each child's individual social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development, fostering a lifelong love for learning. ALCD is education focused with a top notch curriculum with an emphasis on sign language, STEM learning, and foreign languages.
