About
The UCR Center for Early Childhood Education (CECE) in Riverside, CA provides accredited early childhood education and childcare for children from two months old through a kindergarten preparation program. A division of UC Riverside Auxiliary Services, CECE operates multiple classrooms at its North and South sites and offers a full-day schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
CECE’s curriculum follows guidelines from the California Department of Education and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The program is accredited by NAEYC at the Accreditation+ tier. Teachers deliver developmentally appropriate learning in math, science, language, art, music, motor skills, and social-emotional growth, supported by daily schedules and weekly lesson plans. Families participate in two parent–teacher conferences each year and receive an annual written progress report. Observation rooms are available, and the center welcomes students and researchers.
Meals include breakfast, lunch, and morning/afternoon snacks. An active parent association organizes family events and fundraisers. CECE maintains published fee schedules for UCR students (with scholarship funding), UCR staff and faculty, and the community. Scholarship funding, including CCAMPIS grants, is available. The center emphasizes a healthy, safe, and inclusive learning environment designed to support each child’s development.
