About
The Hill Preschool, established in 1972, is a non-profit early childhood program located at 337 North Carolina Ave SE in Washington, DC. Serving children ages 2 to 5, the school offers a play-based approach that supports the whole child, including social-emotional, language, cognitive, and physical development. The program follows the research-based Creative Curriculum and emphasizes hands-on exploration as the foundation for early learning.
Children learn in thoughtfully designed environments that include classrooms, a playground, and the wider community. Local parks and museums are integrated into the curriculum to extend learning beyond the classroom and connect children with their neighborhood.
The leadership team includes Executive Director Nina Mack, an experienced educator with a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership in Administration and Supervision and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, and Assistant Director LaTasha Brown, who holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Trinity Washington University. Together, they support a program focused on developmentally appropriate practice and engaging, child-centered experiences.
