About
Child Discovery Center in downtown Pensacola, FL, has provided early education and child care since 1965. A Title I program, it was the first integrated child care center across three counties and remains focused on affordable, high-quality care. The center is a 4+ STAR, Accredited Florida Gold Seal program serving children from six weeks through fifth grade, with free Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) for four-year-olds and an annual VPK graduation.
Classrooms use the Creative and HighReach curricula, maintain low teacher-to-child ratios, and are led by experienced, long-tenured staff. Services include nutritious meals and snacks at no cost, infant formula and cereal, special classes in art, music, and physical education, Individualized Education Plans as needed, and computers in every classroom. Preschoolers attend a weekly, nondenominational chapel led by ministry staff.
Safety and development are supported through video surveillance in classrooms and on the playground, professionally prepared quarterly developmental progress reports, and parent conferences. The center operates 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m., welcomes walk-in tours, and extends learning through community projects, field trips, and summer camps.
