Early Learning Coalition of Escambia County is a community-based organization in Pensacola, Florida, established in 2000 as the county’s local school readiness coalition. It focuses on helping children from birth to age five enter kindergarten ready to learn while supporting families in achieving economic self-sufficiency.
The Coalition administers Florida’s School Readiness Program, offering financial assistance for eligible families’ child care costs. It manages eligibility and registration support for Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK), including summer VPK, and provides Child Care Resource & Referral services with customized provider listings and guidance on quality care. Additional offerings include Early Intervention Support Services, vision and hearing screenings, and family resources.
For early learning providers, the Coalition offers professional development, training, and technical assistance, and contracts with eligible public, private, and faith-based programs to deliver School Readiness and VPK services across Escambia County.
Offices are located at 1720 West Fairfield Drive in Pensacola, with Program Eligibility and Child Care Resource & Referral on the first floor (Suite 100) and Administration, Finance, Training, Operations, and Health Support on the fourth floor (Suite 400).
