Outlook Academy is an early childhood education center in Kansas City, Kansas, serving children from 6 weeks old through school age. Its evidence-based program is informed by Norway’s Framework Plan for Kindergartens and emphasizes play, exploration, and goal-oriented development across communication and language, health and movement, arts and creativity, nature and technology, early mathematics, ethics, and community. All lead educators hold at least a bachelor’s degree, with program leadership at the master’s and doctoral levels. The center is state certified, with National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) national certification in process, and is supported by a scientific advisory board. Located within walking distance of the University of Kansas Medical Center, the facility is designed for hands-on, inquiry-based learning and includes a hydroponic vegetable garden, splash pad, natural cedar playground and lawn, bird-watching stations, an international wall of art, an astronomy club, a fruit garden, and water-conservation stations. Outlook Academy also prioritizes health and safety through organic food offerings and a UV-C biosafety system.
