Minds in Action Childcare is a licensed in-home daycare in Overland Park, KS, serving children ages 3 months to 5 years. Located in the Quivira Farms area, the program maintains small group sizes and offers flexible placement options, including full-time, part-time, and short-term care. Its Montessori-inspired approach supports independence, hands-on exploration, and learning at each child’s pace.
The home environment is designed for safety and discovery, featuring a fully babyproofed interior, a gated indoor area for toddlers, a quiet darkened space for naps or focused activities, and a spacious backyard for outdoor play. Nature is integrated into daily routines through gardening and caring for plants.
Owner and lead provider Lena Thomas is trained in First Aid and CPR and brings nearly eight years of prior nanny experience. She is supported by provider and substitute Genesis Nettekoven, who incorporates music and creative activities and fosters a calm, supportive setting.
Meals and snacks are prepared in-house with the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines in mind, including warm lunches. Families can select the enrollment option that best fits their needs while their children receive consistent, developmentally appropriate care.
