The West End Community Empowerment Project of Lexington, Inc., commonly known as WECEP, is a grassroots project based in Lexington, Kentucky. Founded in 1995 and incorporated in 1996, they earned non-profit status in 1998. Their school age program, Sankofa University, established in 2010, provides affordable, quality care and education for low-income families. WECEP, with its array of academic, social, cultural enrichment, and performing arts services, is committed to empowering the local community.
