About
Crouthers Academy is an early childhood education and child care center based in Chesterfield, MO, serving families in the Chesterfield Valley area, with a second location in Eureka. It offers full-day programs for children ages six weeks through six years in a safe, clean, and nurturing environment. The approach emphasizes play-based, hands-on learning and whole-child development, with age-appropriate, custom-designed curricula. Programs include an Infant Nursery, Toddler, Two-Year-Old, and a Preschool curriculum focused on kindergarten readiness.
Licensed by the state of Missouri and state-certified in learning and safety, the academy follows strict safety policies. Staff are CPR and first aid certified, undergo background checks, and complete ongoing professional training per state guidelines. Lead preschool teachers hold degrees in early childhood or elementary education, and staff are trained to build positive relationships, support children’s play ideas, and use problem-solving strategies.
Crouthers Academy offers full- and part-time care, extended day options, and supplementary activities such as gymnastics, foreign language, and music. After-school care and a summer camp are available for school-age children up to 12 years.
The academy is led by on-site owner Leslie Crouthers, who brings more than 20 years of experience in early childhood education, with day-to-day leadership supported by director and certified teacher Karen Tainter.
