The Butterfly Garden Child Development Center

Our little Garden of Butterflies is nestled at the entrance to the Idlewild South

community of Ware Road in Southeast Charlotte, NC.

The Children are our Caterpillars & Butterflies!

We offer a nature, nurture, and faith based program with an introduction to

environmentalism by teaching the 3 R's by example by creating art, and recycling in other ways.

We use play-based Creative Curriculum to guide the development of the "whole-child, while promoting a respect for nature, manners, kindness, and self-help-skills which builds self-confidence and empathy.

Our teachers look for opportunities for Discovery Learning outside with our natural pollinator habitats all around our lush green playgrounds.

We are also a registered pollinator pit-stop on the Butterfly Highway where tomatoes can be shared right off the vine!

To teach a child not to step on the caterpillar is just as important to the child as it is the butterfly. When we are outside, we are a guest in their home.
