Mountain View Montessori, based in Reno, NV, is a Montessori school serving children from 12 months through 14 years of age. The school offers a continuum of programs aligned to Montessori developmental stages: the Young Children’s Program (Toddler Community and Children’s House) for children 12 months and walking to age 6; an Elementary Program for ages 6–12; and an Adolescent Community for 7th and 8th year students (ages 12–14). Classrooms are prepared environments that foster independence, language development, practical life skills, and social growth in the early years; inquiry, reasoning, and integrated studies in elementary; and increased autonomy, meaningful work, physical activity, and the development of personal vision in adolescence.
