Nevada Sage Waldorf School, founded in 2000 in Reno, NV, is an independent, non-sectarian school serving children from Nursery through Grade 8. As Reno’s only accredited Waldorf school and a developing member of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA), it offers a full K–8 curriculum rooted in arts integration, nature-based learning, and child development research. Programs span early childhood through middle school, with a play-based preschool and developmentally aligned elementary and middle school courses that combine rigorous academics with artistic and practical work. Assessment emphasizes student portfolios rather than standardized testing.
The school is the first Waldorf school in Nevada and is supported by a collaborative community of students, teachers, parents, trustees, and friends. Core values include high levels of appropriate parent participation, a healthy food environment, environmental mindfulness, diversity and inclusion, and responsible use of technology with limited screen exposure.
