PEACE, Inc. Merrick Head Start

PEACE, Inc. Merrick Head Start in Syracuse, NY provides Head Start Preschool and Early Head Start services for pregnant women and children from birth to five years old. As part of PEACE, Inc., a community action agency, the program prepares children for kindergarten through a comprehensive, family-focused early childhood education model that supports both children and caregivers. Families begin enrollment with a pre-application; after submission, a Family Services Worker contacts them to schedule an appointment and complete the process. The program serves income-eligible households and emphasizes school readiness, consistent attendance, and family partnership. As needed, families can be connected to the broader network of PEACE, Inc. community programs that address basic needs, employment support, and other services. The organization operates with a mission to help people in the community realize their potential for self-sufficiency, and Merrick Head Start advances that mission by offering a structured, supportive start for young children and their families in Syracuse.
