Holy Cross Preschool & Child Care in North Canton, Ohio, provides Christ-centered early childhood education and child care as a ministry of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. The program supports children’s intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth with instruction aligned to the State of Ohio Early Learning Content Standards. Teachers hold four-year or associate degrees or Child Development Associate credentials and complete more than 100 hours of specialized training annually.
Classrooms serve 2-, 3-, 4-, and 5-year-olds with low ratios: 1:6 (and 2:12) for 2-year-olds; 1:10 (and 2:16) for 3-year-olds; and 1:10 (and 2:20) for 4- and 5-year-olds. Daily schedules include Circle Time, Center/Project Time with purposeful, standards-based activities, active play indoors or outdoors, snack, Show and Tell, and age-appropriate faith experiences through Bible Time and Chapel. The curriculum builds foundations in language arts; number recognition and counting; science; social studies; music and rhythm; fine and large motor skills; crafts; art; and manipulatives.
Semi-annual assessments track progress and are reviewed in parent/caregiver conferences. Tours are available Tuesday through Friday between 9:45 and 11:00 a.m. by appointment. An annual registration fee applies ($100 per child; $30 for siblings), with enrollment completed through required health and registration forms and checks payable to Holy Cross Preschool.
