About
Safe & Sound Child Care, based in Columbus, OH, is a youth development and early childhood education program of YWCA Columbus (established 1886). It operates two Step Up To Quality–rated centers serving families on the east and south sides of the city. The Harvey Court site (900 Harvey Ct., Columbus, OH 43219) enrolls infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. The Jenkins Avenue site (27 W. Jenkins Ave., Columbus, OH 43207) serves children ages 2–5 and offers free half‑day preschool (8 a.m.–12 p.m.) through Early Start Columbus, with extended care available via private pay, PFCC, or CCCP.
Across both locations, families can expect qualified, tenured staff; a state‑based, creative curriculum emphasizing STEAM and social‑emotional learning; individualized plans that build coping skills and kindergarten readiness; low classroom ratios; and nutritious meals. The program accepts Publicly Funded Child Care (PFCC) and partners with community organizations to support family stability. Safe & Sound earned a 5‑star Step Up To Quality rating in 2018 and continues to maintain high program standards.
