StudioLingua

StudioLingua is a licensed, non-profit language preschool and kindergarten in SE Portland, Oregon, founded in 2023. Led by native Italian speakers and early childhood educators, it provides full-time Italian immersion for children ages 3–6. Programs run 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with flexible scheduling to support working families. The curriculum combines The Creative Curriculum with the Reggio Emilia approach, emphasizing play-based, child-led learning, collaboration, and hands-on exploration.

A dedicated atelier offers paints, clay, paper, fabrics, and natural materials for individual and small-group projects. Instruction integrates language learning with multicultural activities to build Italian proficiency and cultural awareness. StudioLingua is recognized by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

The school centers its practices on safety, inclusion, and equity, including anti-bias education for all students. In addition to preschool and kindergarten, StudioLingua offers adult Italian classes and community events that extend language learning beyond the classroom.
