YWCA El Paso del Norte Region, founded in 1909 in El Paso, TX, is a nonprofit member of YWCA USA. The organization advances a mission of eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all while delivering services that reach more than 26,000 people annually. It operates seven Texas Rising Star–certified Academies for Early Learning serving children ages 3 months to 5 years. The AEL program provides bilingual, play- and project-based instruction and uses the Frog Street curriculum for infants through preschool, with an emphasis on social-emotional learning and integrated emotional and behavioral health supports. Scholarships and tuition assistance are available. YWCA El Paso also runs 45+ after-school programs for children ages 4 to 12, four fitness and aquatics locations, and housing programs including the Sara McKnight Transitional Living Center. Additional initiatives focus on social equity and racial justice across the region.
