Children’s Home of Lubbock, founded in 1954 and based in Lubbock, Texas, is a faith-based child and family service agency serving at-risk children and their families. The organization delivers trauma-informed care through the certified Sanctuary Model and is accredited by the Council on Accreditation. It operates a modern, debt-free group care campus on Idalou Highway, with tours available by appointment.
On any given day, approximately 90 children are in care across residential cottages, licensed foster homes, and independent and transitional living housing. Most are referred by the Department of Family and Protective Services due to suspected neglect or abuse. Children are served without regard to race, religion, or national origin, and direct care staff complete more than 50 hours of annual training.
Programs include counseling; education and recreation; an Emergency Emotional Support & Assessment Center; the Family Success Program; foster care and adoption services; residential group care; Compass independent living; a transitional living program; and a young mother program. Since its founding, Children’s Home of Lubbock has supported more than 7,200 children, helping them heal from trauma and work toward stable futures through consistent, Christ-centered care.
