About
Mission Academy is a Christian childcare center and preschool in Virginia Beach, VA, serving infants from 6 weeks through K-4. A ministry of Mission Church, the school uses the Abeka curriculum with small class ratios and an emphasis on social, emotional, intellectual, physical, creative, and spiritual development. Enrichment Learning includes a Sensory Room, Spanish, Coding, and Physical Education.
Programs span Infant Nursery, Waddlers, K-2, and K-3 & K-4 readiness. The nursery supports feeding and diapering alongside early cognitive and motor development, with reading time, Spanish numbers and alphabet, and basic sign language. Waddlers build language and color/shape recognition, early counting, Bible songs and stories, and begin potty training. K-2 advances letter, color, and number recognition, simple counting, Spanish, and social skills, with continued potty-training support. K-3 and K-4 teach phonics-based reading, number concepts 1–20, counting to 50, modern manuscript writing, and group work in reading and math; children must be fully toilet trained for K-3.
Before & After School care supports Kindergarten–5th grade with homework help, daily recreation, and Break Care during Summer, Fall, Spring, and Christmas. Transportation includes a bus stop for Kempsville Elementary and Point O’ View Elementary. Mission Academy has served local families for more than 15 years.
