Bullfrogs & Butterflies Preschool, founded in 2005 and based in Virginia Beach, VA, provides year-round early childhood education for children ages 3 to 6. Located across from North Landing Elementary at 2844 North Landing Road, the school offers part-time and full-time programs with hours Monday–Friday 7:00 am–6:00 pm during the school year and 8:00 am–4:00 pm in summer.
The program emphasizes whole-child development—social, emotional, physical, and intellectual—through a play-based, age-appropriate curriculum guided by the Virginia foundation for child development. Core fundamentals include social skills, following directions, emotional development and transitioning, problem solving, and self-directed activities.
Families choose Bullfrogs & Butterflies for its low child-to-teacher ratios, close personal attention, and compliance with childcare standards. Children learn through kinesthetic, visual, and auditory experiences in the classroom and beyond, supported by a variety of enrichment activities such as planting, cooking, dance, music, computer, yoga, and introductory Spanish.
As a small program in a renovated house, the preschool fosters collaboration among children, educators, and parents to create a healthy, enriched learning environment. The goal is to equip each child with a strong foundation for future learning and smooth transitions into elementary school.
